This is what I look at, every day, when I turn my head 90 degrees to the left (unless Makal’s at his desk 
. Outside the window is white not because of the bright light (it’s a dull rainy day here) but because I have a lovely view of a building wall, about 20 feet from our apartment. Hence all the pretties in the window. All in all, our kitchen is ~80 feet square.
The size of this kitchen was an issue as first, as Makal and I both came with complete sets of kitchen wares. We’ve pared down a bit over the years, but still have a lot. It’d be super to buy foods in bulk, but there’s only one cabinet dedicated to storing food; the rest house small appliances, dinnerware, and cookware.
I took this picture around 11a. I use this window to tell time; every day at 4p (assuming the skies are clear) it fills with warm afternoon sun. Before Daylight Savings Time, it was 3p, and at the peak of summer it’s 5p. So yeah, this is what the window looks like *without* pretty light. ;D

View from front. All new appliances, including fridge, gas stove, microwave, and, what you can’t see is a trash compactor and a dishwasher. And, unlike my current apartment, everything is full size!
