Ever notice how new stuff just isn’t built to last? Ever think that things were built better in the “old days?” I do. Most of my kitchen appliances are new but I happen to have one beautiful old appliance going on 50 years old soon. Check it out! ![]()

I have four older fans, mostly made by General Electric they are almost mint. The oldest is from 1921! I have 2 Hamilton Beach Drink mixers, these are not the cheap remakes from the mid 80′s that Mickey Rooney used to advertise for, these are all metal, painted white with a white plastic cup and from the early 60′s! I have a 1965 General Electric fridge in my kitchen, it is as old as me! it belonged to my Grandparents. It outlasted the Caloric stove and the old lady Kenmore washer! Nice Post!
I pretty much agree. Most modern appliances are not built to last, we have an old Oster blender from the 1950′s which is just like yours except it is white. It’s just like yours in that it jumps when you turn it on high. I do have a newer stove, but it’s a Viking and it actually has that “old school” build style in that it’s very simple.
I’m also an “old fan” aficionado.
@Brownlie2 Yeah. It’s unusually powerful particularly for a domestic blender; that’s why I love it.
Your right.I have alot of old fans that work great.I’ve even found a few blenders.Yours is alot more powerful than mine.
