Any ideas on an inexpensive, easy kitchen backsplash?

My kitchen currently has hideous, upside-down wallpaper over the sink and stove. I know tile is a popular choice, but can be expensive and labor intensive. Any ideas for a less pricey, easier do-it-yourself material for a backsplash?
iyamacog,
did you use any kind of border for the vinyl, along the edges?
my only worry with paint is grease and oil splatters from the stove. are there any specialty paints that will not show those spots?

Paint it. Use a kitchen and bathroom paint so you won’t have to worry about it getting wet.

The easy peel and stick vinyl tiles can work great! You can find them at any large home improvement store…and they are between $.90 and $2.00 a tile depending on your style.

Employez juste un morceau de 1&quot ; X 4&quot ; le pin et la perfection et le peignent avec quelques manteaux de peinture extérieure. Si vous avez un routeur, routeur le bord avant supérieur pour lui donner un certain modèle.

go to a local hvac shop and get a piece of copper sheet metal. you can glue it to the wall with some f-26 or liquid nails. for less than $100 youll have a nice, fancy easy to clean back splash
