New Kitchen Faucet

Installed a new kitchen faucet, my first major plumbing effort, besides toilet fixes. Don’t get me started on why it’s off to the side, long story short, i thought i could remove that tube thingy on the right, i can’t. 
It does reach the other side plenty well though, just doesn’t look like it here.
