KITCHEN CABINETS REFACING IDEAS:Kitchen Cabinets Are Very Old?

March 6, 2010 by admin

I have a second kitchen downstairs and the kitchen cabinets are very old and some of the drawers are not functioning correctly. I don’t want to spend a great amount to change the cabinets and I have wondered about refacing rather than changing the cabinets. What is your opinion on what is worth doing. I plan on living in this house for a long time.

  1. Richard Man U says:

Fay, cabinet refacing….as with most all else, get 2-3 estimates, 3 references of each bidder and GO SEE references. I’d suggest new doors ($15-$25 each) and new drawers, guides, and drawer fronts ($20-$30/drawer). New formica s/b about $20-$25/runing foot measured by the back wall dimension….including material. hope this helps…Dawg
