Ok so I just got my house in june and since it was a foreclosure everything was not so good… I painted my Living room (which is open to my Kitchen/Dining room) a dark beige color. I want to paint my Kitchen/Dining room with 2 colors… One would be in most of the room but the other I want to paint a line all around the room that would go through the middle of my counter tops and the cabinets…. My counter tops are pink with black and gray stains and the cabinets I plan to paint a dark brown color…. The floor is tile its mainly white with pink black and gray stains on it…. Another detail is that on the back of my stove all the way up to the range hood I want to put glass tile not sure of what color though….
So any ideas on what colors to use for the room, What color to use for the cabinets and what color to use for the glass tiles behind the stove… Any Ideas are greatly appreciated and I would love bright green as an accent color… Thanks in advance
I plan on changing my counter tops in a very near future to granite right now I have laminate…. I plan on getting it a grayish with black color…

It sounds like you already have pink as an accent in your kitchen. Depending on how bright the pink is, a bright green (which is opposite pink on the color wheel) might create too much of a “carnival” look to the room. However, since you like green, if you take a green that is more muted, maybe like a beach glass color, it could work very nicely. Remember, that when you use a glass tile, the color of your grout will show through. Because you plan to use the glass tile in an area where there may be cooking splatters, you will want to use a colored grout. You will have to choose carefully so the grout doesn’t make your glass tiles look “muddy.”
One way to experiment with colors is to buy some swatches of cloth (or towels, even washcloths) and place them into the room. You can see how different colors work in the room given the lighting conditions and reflections from your cabinets, etc. Once you’ve figured out what accent color works best, then choose your wall colors. You might want to buy some of the paint samples rather than just using the paper swatches from the paint store so you can see exactly what works best for you!
range hoods are very convenient and does not create lots of smoke in the kitchen~-`
