Kitchen Compost Crock

Shown here with a normal sized coffee mug for size comparison, this is a very hard worker in my kitchen. All the non-dairy, meat, fruit scraps go into here, including coffee grounds, used tea and eggshells. When it gets full, the contents go into my compost bin, outside. A filter inside the lid doesn’t let any odors out. It’s a great idea!

WIT – our original idea was to spell ‘Kitchen’ using utensils. I did a few shots and it looked Ok but not great. Then my wife suggested this salt idea, which just seemed to work! I think the shooting angle really adds interest to the shot…I don’t have a flash yet for my camera so had to shoot at a high ISO. Wasted a fair amount of salt but I think it was worth it!
