Perhaps we should have taken a picture in better light? Well, you get the idea. A retro-and-modern mix. The checkerboard floor is cork — it doesn’t exactly come in pure black or pure white, and so the look is less sterile. The veined chocolate brown of the "black" nicely mimics the flecked Black Galaxy granite.
The cabinets are Shaker-style in white enamel with brushed-nickel knobs and bin pulls. The upper cabinets have ribbed glass panels.
The appliances are stainless steel. The walls are a pale grayish purple.

Most of the other units have a way more retro feel to the appliances. Our kitchen is a nice mix of retro and modern.
