    I absolutely love this theme tune.. My Mum and I used to watch this programme on BBC2..
    Wonderful series and the came The Victorian Kitchen with Ruth Mott… Brilliant and Mr Dodson would bring all the goodies from the garden for ‘cook’ (Ruth) to cook for the Household and staff… Ahh fabulous memories… :0)x

    @EESASTORM
    I remember this very well. It was just about this time we were able to see BBC programmes directly in the Netherlands and this was a favourite of mine straightaway. I’m also really pleased to find the theme tune is still being played.
    Happy memories!
    Hats of to Harry!

    I’ve just sat here, transfixed, for ten minutes which is pretty stupid as I have the series on VHS ( well worn ). See you in several hours.

  9. Redweaver says:

    Why just the first ten minutes of these episodes? Is this poster ever going to put up the rest? Anyone know another site I can stream this from?

    I love this piece! Harp does sound much better than piano!

  16. Charwarz says:

    This sounds so much better with harp accompanyment than piano :P I see why they wrote “piano or harp”
    I always play this a bit fast.

    Thankyou, You’ve taken me back to the 1970′s! I watched this as a child with my parents on a Sunday. Sadly, my Father and Mother have since passed away, but the theme still brings the memorys back.

  22. rubyhazel says:

    Simply gorgeous…a long lost era. Remember watching the series many years ago, and the others that followed, ie the victorian kitchen itself and what the household cooked and ate etc. Lovely.

  23. RetroLoco1 says:

    Very enjoyable. The intro is beautiful! Love the music. Even its ruined state, I think the garden was still beautiful. Dig that rotary phone!

  24. ro7311 says:

  25. TomosTaffers says:
