A large pretty open top jar or open container filled with different sizes of whisks or wooden spoons, or cooking utensils.

A set of canisters to hold flour, sugar, tea bags, etc.

    Liquid soap dispenser.

A cute holder for your brillo pad or scrubber pad.

A free-standing, revolving spice jar holder.

I have 4 glass jars ….one jar is filled with sugar, one has pasta, one has tea bags the other is empty.

I collect advertising tins they are very colorful I have these displayed on a shelve and the others are on top of a pie safe that I keep all my can goods in…above that I have a shelve with five different pitchers…the tins I have displayed are related to cooking such as coffee, cereals…you could set a few of these on your counters.

I also have in one area at the end of the counter a straw basket.. so when I pay a bill I put the receipt’s in there and at a later date I can thrown them out.

You don’t want to much clutter on your counters … you will probably change it a few times until to find something that suits you.

Store items elsewhere…clear counter tops have a cleaner sleeker more finished look to them than one covered with items. With that said and you need to have things because of lack of rooms, then….a square small rattan basket with a lid is great for storing your dish cloths and tea towels in. A decorative vase (colour co ordinated to your kitchen) can be used to store all your baking/cooking utensils. Cup holders allow easy access to your mugs and add colour to your kitchen area..you can use hooks on the underside of your cabinetry or a freestanding holder beside your coffee maker. You can purchase pretty jars of all sizes for your coffee/tea/flour/sugar/etc…from bulk food stores, big box stores, hardware stores, dollar stores. You can use mason jars for storage, or wash out large pickle jars or salsa jars. Small reusable jars can display bright candies, baking decorations, beans of all colours and shapes, pastas of all colours and shapes. A fancy bowl passed down in your family can hold fruit or make a great centerpiece for your table. A tall clear glass filled with water and a single bloom submerged within looks great on your counter too.

Colorful canisters look nice and can be used for storage, of course.
Sugar, coffee, tea, flour, or if they are open use them for utensils. A small wine rack if you like wine is nice too. Baskets are pretty and are great for storing breads and muffins.–zzkitchen+canistersz2700405zB6z5—html
Cookbooks arranged with pretty book ends looks nice and a decorative lamp adds soft lighting.
Hope this gave you a few ideas you can use.
