What ever you do get whole grain bread, not seven, not twelve or whole wheat, you must get whole grain for the most nutritious bread anywhere. Canned salmon is better than fresh supermarket salmon because it is canned almost after catching, were fresh salmon is reduced in quality every step of the way to the supermarket, and it is cheaper as well. Canned red kidney beans goes well with everything and they too are very healthy for you as well. I could go on some more, but I don't want to hog out all the other answers. Stay healthy.

Microwave:
Lowfat frozen burritos, Healthy Choice and SmartOnes frozen entrees. You can steam broccolli or asparagus in the microwave in 4 minutes.
You can keep fresh fruit in your room for snacks as well as lowfat tortilla chips. Keep a jar of salsa in the fridge. Also, you could keep a loaf of whole-wheat bread in your room and a jar of Adams natural peanut butter. Lowfat lunchmeat in the fridge to make quick sandwiches. Fat-free Yoplait yogurt cups.

Tuna is a great idea as stated below but just beware of your mercury intake. Don't eat it every day.

The answers below are great! Maybe an avocado if you like those lightly salted or not.

If you have access to a pot, water and a stove, boil a bag of frozen edamame (soy beans). Boil for 4-6 minutes, drain, salt and eat the beans right out of the pod. This is a fun and high protein snack!

Figs, prunes...both very good for you.

Everything I read says to stick to the outside of a supermarket and stay away from the inside isles as most of the things in the isles are processed. Get a lot of produce, fresh vegs and fruit. You could also buy some wheat kaiser rolls/rye bread and some lean turkey and ham from the deli. Sandwiches make a great meal especially if you load them up w/ veggies.

Also, there are a ton of great cereals out there. Eaten w/ skim or 2% milk, this makes a great quick breakfast.

Although they are higher in sodium than fresh itmes, the Lean Cuisine and Lean Pocket frozen meals are fantasitc. All you need for these is a microwave!

Do you have a microwave? If so:
Healthy Choice dinners "are healthy." Many have low fat and sodium content. They also make low fat turkey bacon and low fat pancakes that can be microwaved in a very short time. Combine that with egg scramblers and that is a nice meal.
There are also a lot of low fat tasty soups you can microwave if you need to get in and out of the kitchen fast. But..beware of can soups because they have a lot of soduim.
For snacks you can buy unsalted pretzels, low fat chewy bars, low fat yogurt, low sugar jello, animal cookies are pretty low in fat too!
For bread, eat whole wheat or white wheat bread. You can make a sandwich with Oscar Meyer fat free or 98% fat free bologna and fat free cheese with a little lettuce.

eggs( they really don't require a lot of cooking), green peppers to make omelet? Tuna, lean meats: chicken, fish. You don't need a lot of cooking space to make stir-fry. I make beef and chicken stir fry a lot. With broccoli, carrots, snow peas, green peppers and oriental seasoning. Its good for lunch and/or dinner and doest require a lot. just throw it into a pan and its pretty much it. For snacks I usually boil myself an egg and eat an apple with that. Try to keep a whole grain cereal in the house. And nonfat milk.

A food I recently discovered is Ezekial bread and cereal.

It is healthy sprouted wheat bread with no flour. It tastes great and is very healthy. It is favorite with professional athletes too.

KASHI go Lean cereal is also very good for you and is easy to prepare.. Has very high protein and very high fiber for a cereal, and you can add milk for a complete meal. It tastes great to me, and I add some fake sugar SPLENDA and cinnamon to the cereal and it is like a treat.

Both of these easy to prepare items are low glycemic which will give you great energy for long periods of time, so you won't get super hungry.
