What colors and ideas for my kitchen?

I’m moving to a new apartment this month and I need ideas for decorating. The kitchen appliances are both black and white. The fridge is white, the stove is black and white, the microwave is black and so is the dishwasher. The cabinets are white and wood and the countertops are white. What colors would look good? I’m trying to get ahead on some ideas for colors and themes.

Since you have so much black and white, you might want to bring some other color in. Try green and different shades of purple.
A sunflower yellow would look really good. You could even pull out a sunflower theme if you wanted.
If you like modern design, you could go with primary colors.
Paint a dark color to contrast the white cabinets & counters. Something like “billiard green” by Sherwin Williams:

As for a theme, I don’t know what your taste may be, but I think that vintage posters are very cool in the kitchen:

Make it sleek & elegant, like a ritzy nightclub from the 1920s. Hang dark red curtains, display your wine/martini glasses & liquor collection out where people can see them. Set up a bar-height pub table & stools in the corner:

And maybe a cool, contemporary rug. It will look great!
